The concept of sound is intriguing for a bus stop.

amazing and interesting. would like to know how 2 different music would stop from coinciding each other...

pretty interesting but its quite huge and it does not really response to the site given.

flamboyant. the water thing is a bit of a gimmick that wont have a huge effect on an outdoor environment. would also have to flow or it would become filthy. this would cost a fortune to build, but might be justified as the one off terminal that it looks like, instead of as a repeated bus stop unit. find it hard to imagine commuting suits prefering imposed music to their own ipod, but why not. it could be really interesting, or an absolute disaster, and its hard to tell because so much of the design deals with senses that text and images cant convey. the scale might also be better justified if it doubled as a downtown bicycle park or something. i would be more convinced if it was accompanied by a smaller scale version for the majority of the city's suburban stops...

this is really awsome

The water concept is very interesting, but should they attempt to take this element out of the design later on, it would make it far less appealing.

This could be a seriously fun waterpark pavilion-cum-bird-bath, but it would be a ridiculous bus stop. Salt Lake City gets very cold a lot of the time, and even aside from this fact, a fantastical design such as this would be a net loss for the environment due to horrific expense and maintenance costs. Also, who wants to hear five different songs at the same time?

this could work nice at a major bus hub. it seems this design would create an opportunity for many people to use it as shelter... wanted and unwanted. i am not opposed to creating shelter for the homeless, but it is the wrong place for that to happen.

Do you know what shrooms are?

I do like the flow of the design form. However, it does not relate to the site and would be cost prohibitive due to size and structural requirement to withstand live loads. Offers little protection from the wind driven elements.

We hate traditional bus stop !
They’re not places, we can’t feel nice, there is nothing to do, it’s not corresponding to us !
We want a place we can feel good and free !

What is space ? How to define it ? How to build it ?
This bus stop is a new way, explorating how we can do space. Here the sound creates different places, spaces, feelings. Different spaces with different kind of music allow peoples to feel good, according to what they like (seating and listening classical music, dancing listening pop music, depending of their age and the kind of music they like).
Eye sense is also used, natural light is filtred by water on the roof (snow during the winter), giving different atmosphere. We can see water into the pillars to express it’s used. This water is always going from the earth to the roof, creating a conditioned place. In fact during winter the water is heating up by the earth, while in summer it’s cooling.

Some projectors are conceal into pillars, projecting bus informations and news on the roof.
During the night some lights in the pillars colors water with differents colours, giving a strong ambiance to this place, like the bus stop is doing a show. This place is like a funny friend !

Materials are plastic, plexiglass and resin. The ground and pillars basement are built with resin because of the facility of building, facility of cleaning and durability. Columns are plexiglass because it’s most safety than glass and more easy to do those shapes. The roof is plastic because of it’s lightness and it’s feeling. Those materials give a strong contemporean feeling to this space.

In this bus stop people are not just waiting a bus, they are listening music, moving from a place to an other, meeting, talking, dancing, forgetting problems and becoming happy.

Here people can feel free like children !
