This bus stop is like a interactive piece of public art. It’s recognizeable from around and from inside the bus. Being different from all other bus stop, it gives a strong identity to this place, making itself a funny meeting point. It’s curve shape allows to steer people in differents ways according to what they want to do (ride, get off, stand by, seat, meet …).
It’s composed to be a funny convivial place with a graduation of fonctions according to space from rest / stand by to ride the bus. An enclosed box is detached, creating a landmark and closing the stand by space. This box is used during hot or cold days, using natural energy and architectural protections (during winter the sun will hit up, and during the summer it’s protected against sun using solar shaders and keep cold because of water falling onto the windows).
The structure is made of curved strips which join in the middle creating a covered open space, used as the lean space. Furnitures are thinked to serve multiple use and be convivial. So the lean furnitures allows us not only to lean but also serve as a bar table we can put onto a tumber or some food. People can lean on the other side and it realy become a meeting point. Of course there is also a trash receptacle into.
A linear machine is placed in the first space of the bus stop (seating place). It’s made of Food&Drink dispenser, ticketing dispenser, phone and internet connection point. At the end is placed an information board. Into the box are disposed bus timing screen and information sreen.
The material choosen for the bus stop is steel for it’s longevity and ease maintenance. A mix of plastic and metal is used for outside furnitures while inside we use some new plastic materials which are more confortable (possibility of distortions).
