There were two major issues addressed in my design. The weather was a big focus. It was designed to allow a cool shady area during the summer with good win flow. At the same time, the stop had to become a refuge from the cold wind and snow during the winter. The other major design issue was to make a safe stop for pedestrians. The bus stop is split on each side of the road because there are buses running both directions. There is also a large lifted crosswalk between the two to slow traffic down.
