Bus Stop

Submitted by bgiber2 on September 14, 2009

The bus stop may be a commonly neglected structure that quietly resides in our busy lives. Few people realize how often spaces like these become a big part of their lives, even if it is for just a few minutes a day. The idea that one has to wait is usually not one that many people appreciate. With both of these ideas in mind, it would seem that almost any thought given to the idea of design within the bus stop itself would immediately find the need to answer a few basic questions. Safety, comfort, sustainability and aesthetics are just a few of those questions that we should consider when given the privilege to take on a design project of this kind. Though it would seem that something that is relatively small in most cases, and that which is only used by individuals for short periods of time take steps to lead to a structure that is simple, elegant, and useful in design.
