Canyon Stop

Submitted by lpcavi99 on September 16, 2009

The Design was inspired by the natural canyon formations that most intrigued me while researching the state of Utah. the canyons are such a dramatic feature of the state. The layout of the design protects users from hazards of the roadside by enclosing users in a canyon formation with its access at both ends of the structure. bench seating flanks both sides of the space. While a continuous skylight illuminates the space mimicking the feeling of the natural canyon wonders. photo voltaic panels are employed on the roof to provide power for the electronic signage system that will displaying bus route information and, security lighting for night use. The design focuses in bringing the natural beauty of the state to the corners of the city.
