I applaud you for ambition and graphic display. Functional and intimidating. I like the simple and to the point design.
Cheers

Apparently you don't know neither how triangulation or keystones work (or trusses and sheering). I guess you just tried to use those fancy terms and clearly they don't reflect on your design. I understand this is an ideas competition, but if you are going to talk about engineering at least try to make your design a bit more realistic.
Even if someone overlooks this fact, your design is intimidating, and in real life I can't see anyone sitting underneath it.

A sample of boulders indicative of the wide range of natural beauty present throughout Utah are re-appropriated (or recycled) into a sheltering bus stop.
The smaller stacked boulders act as keystones, stabilizing the structure by preventing the larger rocks from rolling outward. The steel pipe columns take the form of a broken truss, triangulating the gravity forces and resisting sheer, thus providing more support than a vertical column, also allowing the diameter of each member to be reduced.
