Lots of great ideas! Remember to leave escape routes for people traveling alone at night and space for people in wheelchairs or children in strollers.

Good use of technology, but something this nice would get defaced / destroyed quickly in most American cities.

Eco Friendly Stop

Submitted by kbrown89 on May 15, 2009

My Design is meant to support the environment and also to build awareness. On the roof there are two wind mills for wind power and xeriscaping. On the south facing wall is a solar panel that rests at an angle and is supported by a metal hinge.Everything will be or should be powered by both the solar panel on the side and the wind mills on top. On the inside the celing is covered in rows of LED lights that will flash upward and is maybe colored to signal the distance of the aproaching bus.

On one side of the inside wall is a TV protected with a clear heavy plastic material or bullet proof glass. Underneath is a key pad to enter in different stations. On the other wall ins another screen with the bus info for both the UTA buses and U of U shuttles. On the back wall are three windows that can open and shut for ventilation.

The front entrance is all glass with a door in a metal fram for visibility.

On the floor there could be some kind of drawing. I drew a line that counts from 1-5, and thought there be a list of tips to become more environmentally friendly.

If it is really hot outside people can also sit on the benches attached to the wall coming out from the building. On the wall I was thinking there could be a collage of artwork that shows overpopulation, pollution, and other envirionmental problems, and then a solution to fixing those problems. They way I drew it was a big web, and thought there could be various facts on the wall.

Also outside there is a bike rack or two for people to lock up there bikes. Another addition could be plugs and portal for people to recieve the internet on their laptops.
