FTA bu[s]top

The Idea of the shape comes from the graphic sign of The United State Department of transport, Federal Transit Administration.

We started drawings that logo in 3d scale and came up with a very simple and minimalist shape of the bus stop, which is built from a metal frame structure partially cover with fabric, coated with Polyurethane; which makes sheltering more durable and waterproof. The height of the FTA stop is 5 meters to fit double deck buses or coach. On the metal structure, one of the arms is positioned over half of the road to guide the buses in and to show them where to stop.
Then we enhanced the idea with the interior values like:
The seating structure is a very simple double tube made from metal or hard plastic to prevent people from sleeping at the bus stop, (however, if we are going to use metal, one of its properties is that it is very cold, so we thought to use solar panels which are situated on the top of the metal structure which will heat up the seats).
This bus stop is on the university campus, consequently there are students who use bicycles, and therefore we placed metal bicycle racks behind the bus stop.
Of course a bus stop will need to have a ticket machine, so we placed two machines there, as well as a stand with a touch screen that has maps and bus routes.
The lights on the bus stop are situated on the metal structure, and they become brighter when there is someone at the bus stop or when a bus is due.
