Nice! fun to look at, lots of great features. One question: Is the orientation of the back glass panel away from direct summer sun?

Cool design. The Summer heat and the freezing winter winds may be hard on the user of this structure.

overall its not bad. But what about when the wind blows right at you and its either raining or snowing. You need to rethink the front and the sides. Obviously this will change the overall look but with some rethinking you'll have an even better design.

This design is underrated in my eyes. There has been clear thought given to accessibility and the passenger experience.

Very appealing to my sence of sustainable design. Can the design be subduded for more traditional older neighborhoods and obtain the same sustainability?

The extension of the roof to shelter passengers as they enter and exit the bus is good, also having the lighting is a plus.

A Stop for All

Design Features:
The front supports are set 8’ from the curb with the roof cantilevered to extend over the curb and the bus entrance doors. The edge of bus shelter roof will be 12’ over the curb, enough to clear a typical 11’ high bus. Thin tubular framing and clear tempered or plexi-glass panels will provide ample viewing through the structure. This enclosed area will be approximately 20’ long and 8’ deep.
The curve of the structure is designed to shed rain and snow easily. The walls of the shelter will end 6” above the sidewalk allowing air flow into the shelter. Summer heat will dissipate out quickly while blocking direct winter winds.
New disabled driver parking spaces will be placed behind the structure and a new 1:15 curb cut will provide access to the sidewalk and bus stop from the parking lot. The shelter will provide various height seating and an open space to comfortably accommodate a wheelchair user. The bus schedules will be posted at two heights on either side of the central sign board. There will also be a “talking schedule” mounted on the sign board with speech recognition. A person with a visual impairment will touch a button and speak either the route number or the destination to find when the next bus is due. Display screens mounted to the ceiling will announce the next approaching bus visually and audibility. There will also be a video screen for silent advertisements.
The shelter will be well lit. Solar panels will be on the roof to charge batteries that are stored in compartments under the structure. An emergency call box will be placed at one end of the structure. Security cameras will be mounted in the overhead display screen housing.
